It's a pretty decent machine. Pros good power lower cost than Porter Cable the Triangle head awesome Cons Circle head suction lacking Special order for sanding discs. Vac hose at head can be obstructive
As a drywall professional I can tell you that this is a great addition to your arsenal of dry walling tools. It's well built and is made for professional use, meaning it would last the armature drywaller a lifetime. It has an excellent reach and excellent power to get the job done right. Setup and b...
Excellent drywall sander! I am very pleased with the “Variable Speed Dual-Head Drywall Sander.” It is easy to use, adjustable speeds, easy to switch between circular and triangular heads. Changing sandpaper is super easy. It is a good size and weight, and the vacuum hose makes for easy clean up. My...
This thing is a life saver, I finished skim coating a large wall and sanded it in about 15 mins. It sucks all the dust right up, just watch out when taking it off the wall, some dust stays in the head. The triangle head is perfect for edges and corners. Sand paper lasted a very long time so it's wor...
Works OK for the price.
This is a great tool to make a messy job a little less messy, and to make sanding drywall a whole lot quicker. I love that the head pivots in all directions making for a smooth transition on the wall and sanding evenly. I did notice that the holes in the sander were clogging a little and I had to st...
The tool of tools for drywall sanding especially in volume. Set up is quick and easy, extension length is good. Works like a champ at standing, just be sure you have a vac with enough power to pick up all the dust this tool generates. The two heads are great for covering most areas, love the triangl...
Drywall sander works great for big jobs makes them get finished faster. It comes with two heads a round on for bigger areas and a triangular one for edges and corners. It connects to your shop vac so it is virtually dust free. I wish it would have came with a carrying case, it would make it a lot ea...
For the money a good sander. Could be a little better at collecting the dust. Had it connected to a Porter Cable drywall vac but still it let dust float free. Sanded nicely. Once again a good value.
Seems to work well. I have never used one before. The motor causes a feeling of imbalance which wears on your arms. But for the money it's good for small jobs.
sander is awesome to use saves a lot of time good value
I'm in the process of remodelling my house... This is a life saver and money well spent... I recommend this sander...
The sander is a perfect fit for what I do. I wish the original sanding pads were easier to obtain locally.
The problem with this sander is the sanding disk. For the vacuum to work, the sanding disk are 9"with several holes in the center which are only available through mailorder. Other than that, the sander works fine
I have the porter cable drywall sander which cost about 3 times as much and didn't expect alot from this, I have to say I was very pleased with the speed the sander worked After the holidays it will get a real good test about 1000 sq.ft of sanding I also like the price of sanding disc. I have owned...
works great....pads are hard to find
Easy assembly. Sanding with 5 minutes. Great value for the price of this sander. My only concern is availability of sanding discs. A quick search online found 80 and 120 grit readily available. For final sanding, 180 or 240 would be better.
It is a little heavy for overhead sanding but does a great job and helps with dust control!
Makes sanding so easy... Little heavy while sanding the ceiling but it definitely cuts sanding time down.... Love it!
Works great. Keeps dust under control. A back saver for sure. Only down side have to buy sand paper online. Which isn't s problem just have to keep that in mind
Questions & Answers
How much does it weigh? The product overview says 9 lbs, but the specifications indicate 18.5 lbs.
Just at 10 lbs... All the other packing and shipping products account for the extra weight
In between 9 pounds and 19 poundsdepending what your vacum hose is doing! My portacable weight in a close to 25 pounds it would tire my arms out holding it!
how is this for sanding the ceiling
It does great but dont think you can stand on the floor and sand the ceiling, you must keep one hand close to the sanding head to keep it from jumping around. It saves a lot of time but that depends on who is doing the mudding, I have seen a bunch of jobs where people use way to much mud and then sanding becomes a major task. When you see a popcorn or stamped ceiling that is done to cover up bad drywall work.
I'm saying it will work be careful and it will become heavy good luck
Not easy to operate above your head.too heavy.
I have used this successfully on ceilings and walls. It works fine on ceiling, but does take a little getting used to in order to keep it balanced. If the head of the sander pivots, it can gouge the surface. There is a learning curve to adapting this tool to the ceiling, but once you get the feel for it, it works great. If you use it some on walls first, it will help in transitioning to the ceiling. The handle extends enough for me (6' tall) to reach the ceiling easily, but I have also used it from a scaffold. This tool makes quick work of sanding and best of all, it keeps the dust to a minimum when connected to a good shop vac! I have used it on several jobs ( I'm not a pro) and would never sand without it! I recommend it!
It's a little heavy but it works great. Make sure you have a good filter and shop vac.
What are you sanding? ... new drywall, ...popcorn, ...painted?
I used it to sand a ceiling and it worked ok. It's a little heavy and you have to be careful not to overextend your reach as the head can chatter without even pressure and leave disc marks.
