Ive been in the construction industry for over 25 years. Ive always used a worm drive saw. This saw thou is a great tool . The left handed blade gives the line of sight most carpenters are use to. I use this saw for remodels, and in my shop it is my #1 go to. Cuts great. Yet I still use a worm drive...
Easy to work with.Very lite weight. This is a good choice for anybody.
I knew this saw was worth buying after I made my first two cuts with it. It has amazing power, and is very precise. I had to adjust to using a left sided saw on my first cut, but after the second I was positive I had purchased an excellent tool. I used to always try to cut in a position that I would...
No doubt, the best circular saw I've ever used! You can SEE the line without leaning over the saw!! And the sawdust blows AWAY from your face!! Precise, clean, cutting, what else can you ask for from a saw?
I had a regular, cheaper circular saw and wanted to upgrade it. The CS5 made great sense so I now have saws with blades on both sides depending on what I'm cutting and what makes sense ! The blade provided was also excellent. It's a solid machine with a rugged base.
I've been using left blade circular saws for about 12 years now &, being right-handed, I will never go back to a right blade. I'm the ground man on a residential construction crew & have cut nearly every board & sheet of plywood for many homes & additions. This saw has excellent power & balance. The...
The depth change lever is easy to use, and I like the thick shoe plate.
I purchased this saw as my old one died. It works as it should and the blade is very nice. This is my first left blade saw i have owned and I could not be happier with it. Strong motor , long cord , nice blade and at a very nice price.
Always wanted a lighter saw than my worm drive model that gave me the sight window that I've grown to love. I finally bought the CS5 and couldn't be happier. Oh yeah, it's the first one the guys grab when a cut has to be made. Everyone loves it!
There's flex in the saw if you push too hard down on it as sometimes may happen The doth setter often comes loose when working fast No case nor saw guide included Otherwise smooth cuts and higher then most bevel
It was easy to install the blade backwards. Once installed properly saw worked great.
My first use of the product was to make lengthways saw-cuts between composite decking boards - the original contractor failed to leave expansion gaps between boards as recommended by the manufacturer. Despite the composite material is very hard and dense, the Bosch circular saw cut quickly - about 7...
I bought this a about 3 months ago and I love it!. I highly recommend this saw. The power is fantastic along with the durability. I've cut tons of wood with this saw from 2x4s to 4x8s and it handles them with ease. Another nice thing is the cord its not short. Its just the right length. And I've nev...
This saw got my job done in 5minutes it's the best
My wife bought me this for Christmas. I had done some research and narrowed to either this saw or the Makita competitor. The saw is well made and a lot of ergonomics were planned into the design! There are even extra features such as cutting guides for framing right there on the saw. The saw hook is...
The blade was not parallel to the plate when, I did not notice it for several months till i needed to rip several sheets of plywood. I clamped a straight edge on to the ply wood to keep a true cut and the saw binded up. After checking the plate to the blade I realized the problem had to shim the pla...
I love this saw. It is easy to handle, powerful and durable. But I do have one complaint: The lever that loosens the table to set cut depth was poorly designed. My first one popped off within a week, so I returned it for a new one. The second one fell off within a couple weeks, so now I keep the lev...
Saw is accurate and smooth along with lighter than my last saw. Only thing I miss is the laser line.
has power, cuts straight acceptable weight and gets the job done, what more can you ask of anything.
Bought it for Christmas since my old saw had become dangerous. Saw does a great job. Have used in on several projects. "Bosch has a good reputation so I expect it to last a long time. Saw is about the right weight does not feel heavy but feels substantial. Would purchase again.
Questions & Answers
can you order a carring case for this saw
Thank you for your interest. The CS5 does not come with a case, however we do offer a case separately, the Bosch L-Boxx-3 will hold the CS5 saw.
Hello. I am Right Handed. And just watched the Bosch Video. I'm a bit confused. I have always use...
eh,,saw has a blade guard, most all pro grade skillsaws, worm drive usually have left blade, seeing the blade cut equals better cut, if your worried about kickback,,,just go slower
The saw is designed to prevent kick-back. With both hands on the circular saw, I cannot see how any kickback would occur.
Is this saw meant for masonry work?
I wouldn't use this saw for more than occasional light dry masonry cutting with a carborundum blade. For substantial cutting (especially granite) I'd recommend a masonry wet saw.
The CS5 Circular Saw is designed to cut through 3/4 In. plywood and other dense materials. It is not ideal for masonry work. For Masonry we recommend an abrasive cut off saw. For further help, contact us at 1-877-BOSCH99 (1-877-267-2499) from Mon-Fri 7A-7P CST.
I use this saw exclusively for mixing grout. Best investment I have ever made.
I would say yes for tile but granite no your talking diamond blades cutting into ground, cooling the blade which granite cutters have a water line on them and some tilesaws have it as well. So I'm not exactly sure but I would say no. Tile yes. If you have the a masonary blade I'm sure it could do it but I would definitely look at one made specifically for that job. Justcmy opinion. You do what you are gonna do.
Are you able to adjust the baseplate to ensure it is square/parallel to the saw blade?
